Latch Hook Kit

Whats the best fur softner, I just tanned a hide for a rug and the kit came with no softner.?

The hide is from an elk.

1. Neats Foot OIL Use only on the tanned leather side not in the fur itself. Give it a couple of days to soak in and then lightly saddle soap it. Just enough to remove any excess oil.
2. I don't think you will ever get it to be much softer than it was in the wild. Rubbing it with dryer sheets or washing it with something like Downey will be your best bet though
